More Front Cover Analysis - Research & Planning

This particular issue of Empire is focusing on the upcoming film Iron Man 2. The film starring Robert Downey Junior is the follow up to the first Iron Man which was very popular and many people are excited about the sequel. After the success and peoples fondness of the Iron Man suit, Empire have chosen to make the costume the Unique Selling point of the film. The front cover is a very good one and is ideal for me to analyze.
  • Firstly the colour scheme of the whole cover is matching with the title of the film with a mix of blue white and has a kind of lightening effect. This helps make the Iron Man 2 picture look even more impressive.
  • The picture of Iron Man is big and eye catching and will show people looking at the front cover that it has the exclusive on the new Iron Man film.
  • The Small caption saying First look makes the person looking at the cover feel that they will be lucky to see the new things to do with the film.
  • In the small circle above the picture it says focusing on the best films coming in 2o10. This is another selling point of the cover and will help attract a range of audiences.
  • Finally at the bottom of the cover it shows what else is going to be included in the issue. By doing this it will attract more audiences and it shows what is going to be included.
The main thing we can take from this front cover is the colour scheme used as it all mixes well together and it looks very easy on the eye. Also we can use catchy phrases to make sell the front cover.
