Evaluation of our Camera Work : Evaluation

Camera work is the most important thing to worry about when filming, for our horror trailer we needed to create good and evil between characters and by using specific shots to represent a certain characters we did this.

Pro's
  • The most important thing we did in our trailer was created good and evil for our characters, the final shot of our trailer is of the male partner sitting down with the killer standing behind him, this shows how the killer is the superior character and the male partner is the inferior character.

  • Something we improved on from last year was how we used a variety of shots and shot lengths. The different shot lengths gave the trailer different atmospheres at different times and the variety of shots are done not to bore the audiences from watching the same shot over and over again.

Cons

  • Something we struggled on was when we tracked/panned a character it didn't come out smoothly and was a bit joggy every time. A better tripod could allow more smoother tracking/panning.

  • One thing we could improve on is the montage in our trailer. In my opinion i think we could of have shots of the couple running, screaming and hiding from the killer, this would give it a more tense atmosphere for the audience.

How we could improve

Better equipment would allow us to use more panning and tracking shots in the trailer which we didn't use much of because they were joggy with the tripod we used. We could have used more shots of the couple running, screaming and hiding for the montage to give it a bigger effect.
