Evaluation Of Magazine Cover - Evaluation

The final finished magazine cover looks authentic and realistic. We analysed many different front covers to get an idea on what we could include, which would hopefully make it seem very realistic.
Here are a few summary thoughts evaluating the poster and our ancillary tasks.
  • We wanted to make sure that are Unique selling point of the film was portrayed straight away to the audience. To do this we placed the image of our mysterious character in the centre and increased the size of it.
  • Another thing that can be analysed with the image is the clothes and the props used by the character. We have put him in the same jacket which compliments are other ancillary task ( Poster). This shows consistency and will make our villain iconic and remembered in certain clothes. The knife he is holding is a horror genre indicator as well just in case the audience didn't realise this.
  • The size of the title of the film is clear and as soon as you look at the cover you can quickly see the name of the film. This helps attract the audience and promote the film. Also the font used is similar to the one we are using in the trailer and the other ancillary tasks.
  • The tag line used is something similar used in the actual trailer and the poster. This helps spook the audience and show consistency throughout our marketing campaign.
  • To entice the audience in to buying the magazine we include a title saying behind the scenes with Mitpatarpot. If you bought an Empire magazine then you'd see similar things like this.
Overall I feel this is an excellent magazine poster and compliments our other ancillary tasks making are marketing campaign a brilliant one.
