We created our film poster after studying other posters within our genre. Most featured the main characters and/or setting with a dark feel to the posters. We tried to create the same feel by making our poster black & white and focused on our main character with the main location in the background. Our poster is shot from a low angle to potray power from the villians point of view, he is also holding an axe which is the genre indicator and with the potential victims house in the background signifies his intent in the film. The black & white aspect also helps with the narrative because it shows that there will be evil and happiness co-existing and that it will be a dark film. The character's attire also indicates his intent and the film's genre as he is wearing a hooded black jacket, the black shows he is an evil character and the hood signifies the horror genre.
The characters position on the poster is significant because he is at the front showing he is a main character and over powers the smaller house and its occupants in the background, he is also the largest object in the poster again signifying his presence over the film.
The titles have a gothic feel to them which adds to the genre indicators coupled with the blood decals round the writing indicates there will be bloodshed and violence in the film. The tag line is also in red depicting danger and bloodshed.
The tag line is also evidence of the genre and intrigues audiences to the narrative. it reads "Coming summer 2010 be ready or else" this is a direct order to the audience and makes them feel as if they have to go and see the film, it also indicates that the film will be one that takes control of the audience. The release date is also included in the tag line but is only a vague date (summer 2010) which makes the audience want to find out more about the film and it's release date.
Overall i feel the poster does its job well. It teases the audience to want to find out more about the film and has genre indicators to appeal to its target audience and to suggest narratives within in the film.

Use of media technolgies : Evaluation
This shows all the new media technologies we used in the construction, research, planning and evaluation stages of our project.
The Internet, this was a vital programme we used for our research into other film trailers, poster and magazine covers.

Blog spot, we used blog spot to show all our ideas from the research we made of trailers, posters, magazine covers and general ideas about our own trailer.

The camera was the most essential piece of technology we used, without this wouldn't be able to film any footage.

The tripod, this is something we improved from last year, for some of our shots last year we didn't use a tripod and the shot looked good on the camera but when viewed on the editing software it was all joggy and we didn't have enough time go out and film again.

The microphone, last year we did not use a microphone at all which didn't give us the clear sound we wanted, the use of the microphone this year gave us a more clear conversation and reduced background noises during the conversation.

Adobe Premier Elements, this was the editing software we used to upload and edit the footage we took, this was a new piece of software we had this year and at the beginning it was a struggle but the more used it the better we got and the stronger our final product was.

Microsoft Publisher, we used publisher to create the magazine front cover of our film. Publisher allowed us to put everything we wanted wherever we liked and was easy to use.

Adobe Photo shop, this was used to create the poster of our film, we used this to give us more effects with the colours as we wanted a dark looking poster.
Audience feedback about the film trailer : Evaluation
After completing our film trailer we showed it to our classmates and this was their opinion on some of the questions asked about film.
Question 1
How was editing in the trailer effective?
Classmate reply
Editing was very slow, which built up tension due to the transitions.
Question 2
How were titles used?
Classmate reply
They used clear white title font and for emphasis they used red dots and question marks which could insinuate violence or even death.
Question 3
Questions about narrative and what the plot may be?
Classmate reply
The trailer shows that there is a bad person in it but don't know who that may be.
Question 4
What was effective about mise en scene?
Classmate reply
The main location being a house is effective because it alienates people from their own house.
Classmate 2 reply
The location being a house makes it a familiar setting for the audience and you can relate yourself to the characters.
Question 5
What could make the production even better?
Classmate reply
The trailer could flow a bit better.
Classmate 2 reply
The shots were a bit jumpy at times and you don't know if they are flowing with the narrative or not.
Taking the classmates opinions i am very pleased about our finished trailer as some of the questioned asked were to find the little mistakes that were made and there were only a few. The trailer gave me positives than negatives therefore i am very pleased with the final product.

Evaluation of Film Poster : Evaluation
The film poster is the final part of our marketing campaign. We created the poster after thorough research into other horror film posters to see what they used as their main selling point.
- The main selling point of the poster is the low angle shot of the villain holding an axe in his hand. The black jacket worn by the figure indicates to the audience that this is the villain of the film. The low angle shot shows that the villain is the superior character in the film. The back is purposely turned to face the camera shot that the identity of villain is not reveled and leaves an enigma for the audience of who the person is.
- The position of the character is to the left of the poster and is the biggest picture in the poster, this is purposely done to have it bigger than the house in the background and to tell the audience that the villain is going to over power the house in the background.
- The axe the villain is holding is the genre indicator of the film which is a horror. This also tells the audience the villains primary weapon, this is essential in horror films as it makes each film unique.
- The poster is darkened to give it a more scary look, the darkness also indicates when most of the action will happen and like horror films it happens in the dark.
- Finally the release date given is summer 2010 and is not exact, this will keep the audiences enticed to the film and they will want to know the exact date of release.
Overall i think this is a very effective teaser poster, it tells the audience everything they need to know about the film and production, the main thing that a film poster needs to do is tell the audience the title of the film, the release date and the genre. However looking back at the poster now i feel that the date of release could have been in a bigger font just to be more clear and audiences can spot it easily.

Evaluation Of Poster - Evaluation
With the final part of our marketing campaign for Welcome To The Neighbourhood, I can analyze the poster. We studied many different posters, including horror ones to see how they have designed theirs.
- The main selling point of the film is made the centre point of the poster. By placing the scary character in the centre of the poster it grabs the audiences attention and asks them the question why is he standing there with an axe.
- The positioning of the man to the house is very clever as he is shown as much bigger than the house. This makes him look like he has power over the people inside the house. It also continues the theme of the trailer with the mysterious hooded man having the power other the couple.
- To make it seem scary and like a horror poster we darkened it and made the jacket worn by the killer more ragged, something like a traditional killer would wear.
- With the tag line being quite sincere we changed the colouring of the text to red to symbolize death and make the poster a horror one.
- By not stating an exact date it will keep the audience on the edge of their seats waiting for the date of release.
- Finally the sky line used is dark and looks very depressing. This is the usuall weather you would expect to see in a horror film.
This poster fits in perfectly with the other ancillary tasks and brings it all together to make a unique and very tidy marketing campaign.

Evaluation Of Magazine Cover - Evaluation
The final finished magazine cover looks authentic and realistic. We analysed many different front covers to get an idea on what we could include, which would hopefully make it seem very realistic.
Here are a few summary thoughts evaluating the poster and our ancillary tasks.
- We wanted to make sure that are Unique selling point of the film was portrayed straight away to the audience. To do this we placed the image of our mysterious character in the centre and increased the size of it.
- Another thing that can be analysed with the image is the clothes and the props used by the character. We have put him in the same jacket which compliments are other ancillary task ( Poster). This shows consistency and will make our villain iconic and remembered in certain clothes. The knife he is holding is a horror genre indicator as well just in case the audience didn't realise this.
- The size of the title of the film is clear and as soon as you look at the cover you can quickly see the name of the film. This helps attract the audience and promote the film. Also the font used is similar to the one we are using in the trailer and the other ancillary tasks.
- The tag line used is something similar used in the actual trailer and the poster. This helps spook the audience and show consistency throughout our marketing campaign.
- To entice the audience in to buying the magazine we include a title saying behind the scenes with Mitpatarpot. If you bought an Empire magazine then you'd see similar things like this.
Overall I feel this is an excellent magazine poster and compliments our other ancillary tasks making are marketing campaign a brilliant one.
